Your prices are unbelievable. How do you do it?
- We do not own lavish stores with the enormous costs that other bespoke tailors incur.
- Instead we rent beautiful function rooms across the country and turn them into a tailor's shop for the day. We also work from low-key Tailoring Centers in Surrey and Cheshire.
- Since we only sell bespoke suits we carry no stock.
- We do not advertise in the traditional sense - instead we rely on our popularity on the internet and word of mouth recommendations from our legions of existing happy customers.
In summary, whilst your suit is tailored in a very traditional way, the structure of the company is extremely modern, from our sales order process to the global positioning of our tailoring workshops. These factors make us an extremely cost-efficient company, and we pass these savings onto the customer.
Your prices are unbelievable. Is your service really bespoke?
Absolutely. Each suit is cut from a roll of cloth to your measurements and specifications just as bespoke suits always have been. Our Head Tailor takes great care and attention in examining your measurements and your photographs, before cutting the fabric so that the suit fits you beautifully. We are not adjusting a pre-made suit. Furthermore, unlike many of our competitors in the under £1000 market, you are invited to try on the suit in front of a tailor so that if needs be we can make the appropriate alterations. We feel this is an important part of the King & Allen service and we include it in the price.
How long does it take to tailor a suit?
Your suit is ready for your first fitting 6-8 weeks after you place the order (or we offer a 3-4 week express service if you would prefer). We will contact you personally to invite you to our next suitable fitting day, so that you can try on your suit in front of an expert. Please note that further fittings are often required to ensure a perfect fit. This is perfectly normal and is all part of the bespoke tailoring experience. Indeed, it is an aspect of our service of which we are very proud, since many of our competitors do not offer it. If your suit requires any 'tweaking', alterations usually take about 10 days. You will then be invited to return for a second fitting.
Can I have my suit tailored with working cuffs, boot-cut trousers, a single vent, 3 buttons etc...?
During your consultation you will be advised on the many options available to you. Furthermore, we are always happy to offer you our expert guidance in helping design a suit that will compliment not just your style but also your body shape. There are no surcharges for any of our options.
Do you offer a lightweight, summer suit?
We have a wide range of lightweight fabrics to choose from that would be ideal for weddings, eveningwear or business. We can also offer you a cut and spec which is more casual than a business suit if that is what you are looking for. You will receive all the advice you could need at the fitting day.
Do you make suits for women?
King & Allen offer a smart, elegant ladies business or lounge suit. As with our men's ranges, your suit is made to your measurements and specifications from a single roll of cloth, and is designed to flatter your body shape. We always bring samples of ladies suits to fitting days, so you can see the style and quality for yourself.
Can the suit be posted to me?
Yes. For no extra charge we will send your suit recorded next day delivery to anywhere in the UK.
What if my suit requires an alteration?
We are extremely proud of very high levels of accuracy. However, should your suit require 'tweaking', we will have one of our tailors (some of whom are ex Savile Row) make the necessary alterations for you, in house and at no extra cost. These alterations usually take 7-10 days to complete. In some instances we may decide to make a garment again for you. Tailoring is an art not a science, and we are very proud of our devotion to getting the measurements right for you, especially on your first suit. All we ask is for your patience while we work on your suit for you.
Can I order a second pair of trousers?
Ordering a second pair of trousers is a great way of prolonging the life of your suit, as most customers find they use the trousers more often. Furthermore, you can vary the style of the same suit - by alternating between a modern and traditional style. Trousers are priced at approximately one third of the value of the suit (around £100 - £150).
Can we arrange for you to come to us?
If we do not have a fitting day published on our website that is convenient to you, it is unlikely we will be in your area in the near future. We would like to think that we are such good value for money that when you budget for travel and time, visiting King & Allen is still fantastic value. However, if you are able to gather a group of friends or work colleagues together we will come to your home or place of work (conditions apply). We can also provide detailed instructions on how to measure yourself for a King & Allen suit. We could then post you the suit on completion. Contact us for more information
