Tweed Suits for Men & Women, by King & Allen

from£399

King & Allen specialise in tailoring bespoke tweed suits or tweed jackets that suit every style, body shape and budget. Off the peg tweed suits are often boxy and ill fitting, making the wearer look old and overweight – not the desired effect at all!

A tweed suit is quite a statement, and it therefore needs to fit like a glove to have the desired effect – that is: a modern take on classic garment.

King & Allen also offer thousands of options for design, cut, style and colour to ensure that your tweed suit is exactly how you envisioned it. And for your piece of mind, everything we do comes with a satisfaction and quality guarantee.

Prices for our tweed suits range from £399 to £999 for a two piece. Most people opt for a waistcoat as well, which will add around £200-400 to the price. Or you can order garments separately if you prefer. To find out more about our pricing please click here.

Helping you choose the right Tweed Suit

Choosing the right tweed suit for you is not an easy task, especially if this is your first time. To help you please see below our top 5 tips. Or if you would prefer to speak to a human being who can help you meet your individual requirements please feel free to call us on 0800 027 4430, or get in touch.

Choosing a Tweed suit – Tip 1

Consider the weight of the cloth. Tweed itself tends to be quite heavy (12oz +), but we carry plenty of wools that look and feel like tweed, but won’t make you hot or weigh you down. In this way you can create the look of tweed whilst enjoying the practicalities of a mid weight worsted wool.

Choosing a Tweed suit – Tip 2

Consider what colour you would like your tweed suit to be. Because of the nature of the yarn, tweeds come in a huge range of colours. Traditionally Harris tweeds come in very autumnal colours (to compliment the rugged heath land of the Outer Hebrides, where they are exclusively spun), but these days even the most traditional of clothmakers are releasing vibrant and exciting colours.  Just be conscious of complimenting your own colouring.

Choosing a Tweed suit – Tip 3

Consider the cut of the suit. Conventionally, when people order a 2-piece tweed suit the jacket is cut with 2 buttons, and if they are to include a waistcoat they may prefer a 3 button jacket that is seldom fastened. However, times are changing and the cut is very much down to the individual and their needs. A shorter person, for example may prefer a one button jacket that serves to elongate the body. All these things can be discussed with your tailor.

Choosing a Tweed suit – Tip 4

Consider what style you would like your suit. Tweed suits have been around for a hundred years and have spawned a variety of popular styles, from the very conservative, practical tweed suits of post war Britain to the superbly dapper peacock suits sported by celebrities and modern day dandies. We normally recommend something in between – but the choice is all yours!

Choosing a Tweed suit – Tip 5

Consider your options. Your option choices play a big part in the overall look of a tweed suit. High waisted trousers, with brace buttons, turn-ups and a double pleat are the more traditional style, and yet, because these options are so different to those expected of a regular suit, can be the most appealing to the modern tweed suit buyer.

With all of the above tips, we are here to help you decide which direction will suit your requirements, from your body shape to your budget. If you would like some useful advice direct from the experts, please get in touch or call us on 0800 027 4430.
